Reflexology Massage Therapy

Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion based on a system of zones and areas that reflect an image of the body.

It can help improve circulation, stimulate healing and relieve stress and tension. It has been used to heal for centuries and is a great addition to any holistic health regimen. Many nerves of the body end in the feet and by adding gentle pressure to these specific areas the body is engaged in and encouraged to heal any dysfunction it might be experiencing.

Reflexology has been associated with improvements in many areas including; respiratory issues, digestive problems, migraine/headaches, pregnancy symptoms, depression/anxiety, Plantar fasciitis, and so much more.

How is Reflexology incorporated into a massage therapy treatment?

As a Registered Massage Therapist with additional Reflexology Certification, an RMT may use the principals of foot reflexology within a treatment to help increase range of motion within the joints and tissues, release tight fascia, calm the nervous system or simply to just release tight muscles within the feet and lower legs. Long days on your feet can create tension, lead to aches and pains in the knees, and hips, as well as contribute to swelling in feet and ankles. Reflexology can assist in addressing theses issues and more and the increased relaxation effect is a natural result.

Jennifer looks forward to introducing many of you to the benefits of adding reflexology into your massage therapy treatments!
