Registered Psychotherapy
At Thrive, our goal is to help you live your life to its fullest in all capacities. Registered Psychotherapy allows individuals to take time to process and learn about their condition, moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviours. This kind of therapy helps you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills.
There are many types of Psychotherapy, each with its own approach. The type of Psychotherapy that’s right for you depends on your individual situation. During an initial consultation our Registered Psychotherapist will guide you through a series of questions to help determine what services and therapeutic interventions would best fit your needs. After the initial phone consultation an initial in-person session will be booked. This session may be a bit longer then a regular session, as it gives us an opportunity to talk a bit more in-depth about the therapeutic process and understand what exactly your needs are.
Some of the things you can address with our therapists are:
Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, Anger Management, Addictions, Self Esteem/Self Worth, Loneliness, Developmental Trauma, Parenting, Couples Counselling, Relationship Issues, Peer Relationships, Young Adulthood, Career Guidance/Change, Life Transitions, Conflict Resolution, Stress Management, Medical Anxiety, Substance Use, Suicidal Ideation, Sleep/Insomnia, Sexual Abuse, Self-Harming, Infidelity, Grief, Domestic Abuse, Divorce, Trauma.
Our therapists use a trauma informed, safe and supportive approach and a client centered, attachment theory & strengths based perspective to help you gain valuable insight into yourself and your relationships. Using tools such as: Mindfulness, Psycho-Education, Breathwork, EMDR (eye movement and desensitization therapy), EFT (emotionally focused therapy), DBT (dialectical behaviour therapy), IFS (internal family systems), SFT (solution focused therapy) and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). *Please see individual bios to see each therapists areas of expertise.
